Firm Foundation
Firm Foundation is a registered charity which helps relieve the immediate suffering of the homeless, while working with them to find a practical and sustainable solution to their needs.
It was birthed through a collection of Churches in Harrow who wanted to make a difference. The charity is now working across the Borough of Harrow assisting those who are single and homeless regardless of circumstance.
Their ethos is to demonstrate God’s love for humanity in a practical, Christian way to those who are homeless, vulnerably housed or at risk of becoming homeless. They run a winter night shelter January to March, a regular drop-in forum and run Hope Place as move-on accommodation.
Pinner Baptist Church gives an annual donation towards the work, plus extra fund-raising and visits from the team. For more information see www.firmfoundation.org.uk
Harrow Foodbank
Harrow Foodbank is a project founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping hunger in our local area.
They have been running since 2013 and offer 3-day emergency food parcels to people or families in crisis. They do not only offer food, but also supply toiletries, cleaning products, baby supplies and pet food.
The distribution centres are at St Paul’s Church in South Harrow and Holy Trinity Church in Wealdstone, and they collect their donations at their warehouse in the Phoenix Business Centre in Harrow.
Pinner Baptist Church gives an annual donation towards the work, plus collecting food supplies at Harvest and other occasions. www.harrowfoodbank.org.uk
